TELE-COURT: The Telephonic Court Appearance Solution

TELE-COURT AWARDED FEDERAL LICENSE AGREEMENT
In March of
2006, the Administrative
Office of the U.S.
Courts (AOUSC) awarded Tele-Court one of four master license
agreements to provide telephonic court appearance services to the 94 districts
in the United States federal court system.
These master license agreements are in response to the growing number of judges
and courts allowing attorneys and parties to appear telephonically from remotes
sites in appellate, district and bankruptcy proceedings. This service is a
courtesy to attorneys and parties and may save significant time and travel
expenses.
Attorneys and parties may purchase telephonic court appearance
services and appear telephonically as permitted by the presiding judge. Each
attorney or law firm is billed separately for each appearance in each case.
The Tele-Court solution
provides attorneys with a scheduling and conference management interface.
Using the TELE-COURT viewer, judges are able to see who is on the call, who is
holding, and even who is speaking. Tele-Court’s entire system is designed to
meet the unique needs of attorneys in connection with telephonic court
appearances.
